Eric Troop
Eric Troop has been with the art department of the film industry for almost twenty years. Working his way up in the ranks from set dresser to decorator and designer, he has gained a complete perspective of what it takes to get the job done.
After studying film at Long Island University, Eric moved home to Los Angeles to study at USC. Soon after, he began working at Propaganda Films. He joined the creative team involved with the exploding music video industry of the late 1980’s, working with artists like Michael Jackson, director Michael Bay, Michael Penn, and many more Michaels.
Eric moved to film and television as a Set dresser and then as a Lead Man in the early 1990’s. He worked on Lawnmower Man, Revenge of the Nerds 3, CB4, Menace 2 Society, Camp Nowhere, Sugar Hill, Kiss The Girls, One Night Stand, She’s De Lovely, Mad TV, Party of 5, Hotel Malibu, and many other forgotten gems.
His commercial career was enhanced by years spent with award winning director Joe Pytka. From Pepsi to Levis, Nike and McDonalds, the size and scope of these commercials are unheard of today.
Creating the furniture store and brand Emmerson Troop with William Emmerson, Eric ventured into furniture and interior design. The store was a huge success. It has been featured in many design and style publications, including the cover of Interior Design Magazine. The store is highly respected for its innovations, with an impeccable eye for both quality and detail.
Eric’s passion for film has never left him. Today, he works as a decorator and designer residing in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles.
